#PDPpresidential primaries: Saraki not stepping down for Atiku

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Campaign Organisation has denied report that Senate Bukola Saraki will step down for former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, before the commencement of voting at the convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Port Harcourt.

The spokesperson of the campaign organisation, Ilemona Onoja in a telephone chat with our reporter said Saraki has no intention of stepping down for anybody, stressing that the former governor of Kwara state has secured the support of majority of delegates and is certain of emerging as the presidential candidate of the PDP.

“There is no iota of truth in this. It is not true that I can confirm to you. The senate president is not going to step down for Atiku or any other aspirant,” he said.

However, he failed to confirm report that Saraki has secured the endorsement of the 37 delegates representing people with special needs at the convention.

There were media reports that people with special needs who were given 37 delegates to the PDP National Convention adopted Saraki as their candidate after his team met with them.

“I can’t confirm that for now. Give me time to get back on this,” he said.
