The chairman and chief executive officer, NMC Shoe Making Company, Alhaji Yusuf Na Mamancy has described small-scale industries as employment providers especially at present when government cannot afford to employ everybody into it’s services.
He stated this in an interview with our correspondent, adding that people of all categories are being employed to work at various small and medium scale industries where they also learn different types of occupations as seen in the society today.
Alhaji Yusuf NMC said that establishing and managing small and medium scale industries is not an easy job, but with determination, dedication and hardworking, a business or commercial outfit could be successfully maintained with profit orientation.
Commenting on his shoe making outfit, Alhaji Yusuf NMC announced that his company is producing quality shoes and bags that can be compared with every products because they have qualified workers that have longterm knowledge in shoe making since the establishment of the company about four years ago.
In conclusion, Alhaji Yusuf Na Mamancy Kwa called on the federal and states governments as well as the Bank of Industry to assist small and medium enterprises in order to enable them boost their production for national economic progress, and tasked the National Directorate of Employment and other related agencies to include small-scale industries into their skills acquisition training programmes.
