Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Kebbi State governor, Aisha Augie-Kuta, has expressed her intention to Argungu-Augie constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking briefly after picking a nomination for at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Abuja on Sunday, Mrs. Augie-Kuta said she took the decision to run after consultations with her family, friends, well-wishers and stakeholders in Kebbi State.
Mrs. Augie-Kuta, who was joined by supporters from her constituency to pick up the form, recently emerged the North West coordinator of the APC Female Aspirants Forum.
An award-winning photojournalist for over ten years, Mrs. Augie-Kuta won Creative Artist of the Year at the 2011 Future Awards, British Council Through My Eyes Project in 2014, and the Sisterhood Award for Photographer of the year – also in 2014.
She is an associate of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI), vice-president of the Women in Film and Television in Nigeria, and founder of the Centre for Arts and Culture (CACT).
Mrs. Augie-Kuta is the daughter of the late Senator Adamu Augie, a former director general of the National Television Authority (NTA). She is married with three sons.
