NORTH CENTRAL ZONAL ELIMINATION GAME 2018…………….NIGER STATE PERSPECTIVE PART TWO (2)

The Technical sports Directors of the North Central States had fine tune modalities for the screening of athletes during their meeting at the kwara state Sports complex Ilorin.

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports north central zonal Director, Dr Patrick Uwagbale who presided over the meeting confirmed that the 2018 elimination will be strict and rules compliance, he stated that the use of over age athletes will no longer be tolerated in the 2018 National Youth Game.

Dr Uwagbale who double as the coordinating chairman of the elimination series reaffirmed the resolved of the Honourable Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung that is not business as usual for states to parade over age athletes.

Meanwhile, the Niger State Director Sports Facility, Alhaji Umar Mohammed who represented the state at the meeting reiterated the commitment of the participating states to abide by the rules of the game, he said effort had been put in place by Niger state Ministry of sports through it athletes credentials committee to checkmate the challenges of over age.

Already, a total of about 139 female athletes from the north central Nigeria had been screened and qualified to play for the elimination while a total of 94 male had been screen and qualified for the zonal game.

Those disqualified are 19 female from all the participating states and 49 male in the zone, Niger state had a total qualified athletes of 16 male and 19 female athletes. Those disqualified from Niger state are 8 female athletes and about 12 male athletes.
