Again, Bolaji Abdullahi resigns as chairman of Nigeria Sugar Development Council

Former National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Friday, resigned his federal appointment as the Chairman of Nigeria Sugar Development Council.

Disclosing via his twitter handle, Mr Abdullahi said: “Following my resignation as National Publicity Secretary of APC and my decision to quit the party, I announced to the board this morning that I have resigned my appointment as Chairman, Nigeria Sugar Development Council.”

The former Sports Minister resigned his position in the APC, a day after Senate President, Bukola Saraki defected from the party.

Recall that, in a letter issued on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by the national secretary of the party, Mai Mala-Buni, the party had moved on by appointing his replacement in the person of Yekini Nabena.

The letter stated that the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party had approved the appointment of Mr Nabena as acting national publicity secretary.

“I write to convey the resolution of the National Working Committee reached at its 34th regular meeting of Aug. 1, 2018, mandating you to resume duty as the Acting National Publicity Secretary with immediate effect.

“This development is sequel to the resignation of Malam Bolaji Abudullahi as the National Publicity Secretary,” the letter said.

It wished Mr Nabena success in his services to the party and assured him of the highest regards of the leadership.
