DEVELOPMENT: GOV SANI-BELLO SAYS NIGER WILL CONTINUE TO PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF ON CHILDREN/WOMEN

Niger State Government has said it will continue to partner with the United Nations Children’s Fund in order to ensure adequate provision of humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and women in the state.

Governor Abubakar Sani -Bello stated this Thursday in his office when he signed the 2018 agreement with the UNICEF.

The Governor who said that the advantages and benefits of the UNICEF in the state can not be over emphasized said his administration would ensure it sustains or improve on its relationship with the UNICEF.

“Words cannot quantify the value of work the United Nations Children’s Fund is doing in Niger State. I am trying to sustain or improve the relationship between the state and UNICEF as it is of great benefit to the people of the state.”

He stated that despite the financial challenges faced by the state, the state government would ensure that it continue to see to the effective and efficient healthcare services to children in the state.
‘I can assure you that we are going to do our best in the interest of the general public by partnering with UNICEF because of the advantages. ” He added.
Governor Sani-Bello then commended the efforts and contributions of the UNICEF in boosting the healthcare system of the state thereby assuring them of his participation in all their programs.

Earlier, the Chief Field Officer, Dr. Zakari Adamu commended Governor Sani Bello’s administration for its commitment to children’s agenda , ensuring a polio free state and his efforts in revitalizing the Primary Healthcare system across the state
He also commended the participation and contributions of the wife of the Governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello for ensuring that children in the state are in good healthcare condition and for participating in the reduction of maternal and infant mortality.

Dr. Adamu then called for the support of the state government to focus on intervention in the areas of healthy, education and nutrition.
