The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Friday, June, 15 as Sallah day.
This followed the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal in many places across the country.
The new crescent was sighted in Borno, Sokoto, Kaduna, Plateau, Kano, Nasarawa among others.
The monarch said the reports were verified and authenticated.
Sultan Sa’ad prayed Allah to reward the deeds during the fasting period and to answer all the prayers for the leaders and the country.
He also called on Muslims to live in peace with one another irrespective to their differences, saying this was the only way to overcome the challenges as a nation.
