2018 World Cup: Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez gives update on Hazard’s injury
Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez, has provided update on Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard’s injury.
Hazard was forced off in the 70th minute of Belgium’s 4-1 victory on Monday night against Costa Rica in their last pre-World Cup friendly match.
Martinez, however, has calmed the fears surrounding the forward after he suffered a knock on his leg.
Asked about Hazard’s injury after the win, Martinez told reporters: “Eden is okay, he had a little trouble, but it’s nothing to worry about. Eden Hazard should be available for Belgium’s opening World Cup match.
“I really enjoyed his performance. He was sharp and strong, he was majestic.
“At the end he just came off because he had a little bit of a dead leg, a little bit of a knock on his leg.”
He added, “I think we have made progress. We did not lose, it’s important. We scored a lot of goals tonight”.
Belgium will face England on June 28 in their Group G 2018 World Cup opener.
