‘They’re too nonchalant’ – Siasia blasts misfiring NPFL players .

The Super Eagles’ handler was left unimpressed by unimpressive display of the NPFL players during their friendly against Nigeria National League side, Katsina United

Samson Siasia was left bemused by the performance of Nigeria Professional Football League stars ahead next week’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.

The disappointed coach watched his side play a 0-0 draw against Nigeria National League side, Katsina United in their third friendly game at the National Stadium, Abuja.

On Wednesday, the Nigeria U23 national team recorded a 2-0 victory over the Super Eagles – leaving the caretaker coach to condemn the attitude of the players and call on them to learn – and quickly.

“We are not playing well for now. We can’t even make four passes among ourselves,” Siasia told media.

“It is embarrassing; we couldn’t even create clear cut chances at goal playing against Katsina United. We will see if there will be an improvement.

“What I’ve seen wasn’t what I was expecting. They were so nonchalant, no one was talking and no chance was created. No good crossing from the left back or right back.

“Alot of work to do in two weeks? We need to play that game. But we will do what we have to do and the ones that are doing well, we will join them with the ones from abroad.

“I’ve not seen much in the last couple days. Let’s call a spade a spade. In the National League (NNL), if you’re playing against Katsina United, you shouldn’t be touching the ball expect when getting the ball out of the net.

“We didn’t create one chance. I don’t think it’s a good thing. It’s either we play or we go home. We shouldn’t be wasting our time.

“We need smart players if you get the ball what do you do with it? We need to score goals and if you don’t create chances, how do we score goals?

“It’s a big problem but we still have two weeks maybe the players will pick up because we are not joking here. We have an important game coming up.
