Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has admonished parents to teach and instill positive societal values and morals to their children as a critical factor in the regeneration and survival of this country.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace to commemorate the 2017 Children’s Day, Governor Sani Bello said the high level of moral decadence in the society today calls for urgent value reorientation amongst our children.
Governor Sani Bello noted that, as a vulnerable group, children must be given the enabling environment to actualize their potentials and make them productive and responsible citizens in the society.
The Governor renewed his administration’s commitment to the fight against all forms of abuse, discrimination and violence on children stressing that the children have right to a better life.
“A lot of children suffer one form of violence or another every time and it is our responsibility, as a government, to protect them against all forms of abuse”.
Governor Sani Bello explained that the holistic transformation of the health and education sector in the state has a direct correlation with the efforts by government to make them useful members of the society.
While wishing the children a happy celebration, Governor Sani Bello assured that the state government would soon facilitate the implementation of the Child Rights Act, already domesticated by the state, as well as other relevant laws that guarantees and protects the children
