The Niger State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, on Friday has nullify the purported suspension of its Chairman, Comrade Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, describing it unconstitutional, null and void.
This was contained in a Press Statement made available on Friday, 22 May, 2015 which was copied to the council’s grand patron, Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, the State Commissioner of Police, Director SSS as well as other relevant stakeholders in the state.
The statement reads “The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter held a meeting of its management committee and 25 Local Government Coordinators at the NULGE Secretariat Minna and the following resolutions were reached:
Totally condemn in strong terms the purported suspension of the State Chairman, Comrade Jibril Abdullahi Muregi by some members of the State Executive Committee. This act was declared unconstitutional, null and void.
The meeting were the said suspension of the State Chairman was agreed was not properly convened and the required two-third attendance of the committee members was not reached.
The meeting unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the State Chairman, Comrade Jibril Abdullahi Muregi and warned that any person or organization that officially transacts any business with any person or group of persons rather than Comrade Muregi does that at their own risk.
Furthermore the meeting directed the affected EXCOS to publicly retract the said suspension in mass and social media within the next six hours of this release or risk the chance to be punished”.
It should be recalled that on Thursday, 21 May, 2015 there was a statement circulating the social media stating that Comrade Jibril Abdullahi Muregi has been suspended at the council’s last executive meeting held on Wednesday, 20 May, 2015 for alleged gross misconduct and constitutional abuse.
