Breaking News – Court Struck Out Case against Veteran Journalist in Minna

A Federal High Court sitting in Minna has dismisses the charge of illegal possession of fire arms without license against Veteran Journalist based in Minna, Alhaji Iliyasu Dhacko.
The Presiding Judge, Justice A.I Chikere while delivering said the charge was struck out as requested. According to her, the court after hearing a plea made by the Prosecution counsel, Barrister Abdullahi Inuwa seeking withdrawal of the charge in pursuant to section 284 of the criminal procedure act.

The counsel to the accused person Barrister Daniel Omaker of the cosmic chamber Minna, raised no objection to the prayer sought by the prosecution counsel for withdrawal of the charges against its client.

Barrister Omaker after the dismissal of the charge had prayed the court to order an immediate release of all necessary documents carried away by the State Security Service at the accused residence for onward to the accused person.

It will be recalled that the State Security Service had sometimes in September last year filed a charge illegal procession of fire arm without license against a Minna based Journalist, Alhaji Iliyasu Dhacko before a Federal High Court in Minna.
