The video of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary brought by the party’s Niger State governorship aspirant, Engr Mu’azu Sarkin Sudan, was yesterday admitted and viewed by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Sarkin Sudan had tendered two video exhibits which are the primary held at the Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna on December 8, 2014 which produced Umar Nasko as the party’s candidate and the press briefing by aggrieved governorship aspirants on December 14, 2014.
Justice Ahmed Mohammed overruled the objection of defence counsel Olajide Ayodele (SAN) and held that the exhibits fulfilled the conditions for admitting electronic materials under Section 84 (4) of the Evidence Act, 2011. He therefore listed the videos as Exhibit H2 and H3 respectively.
Sarkin Sudan, who was examined by his counsel Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN) on the video, which was played back in the open court, identified Liman Kantigi the former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state as the agent who wrote names of delegates including Governor Babangida Aliyu for a particular candidate.
Justice Ahmed Mohammed adjourned the suit to February 25 for defence counsel to cross examine the witness and continuation of hearing.
