NIGER COMMISSIONER SYNERGIZES WITH PRIVATE SCHOOL OWNERS FOR A BETTER EDUCATION SECTOR.

Niger State Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu has stated that the State government recognises the role of Private School owners in adding value to the Education sector in the State.

She stated this at the Annual National conference of the Association of Model Islamic Schools( AMIS) holding at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi conference centre Minna on Friday.

The Commissioner noted that His Excellency the Executive Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello have always appreciates the contribution of Private Schools in the development of Education in the State and has always insisted that we work together to achieve the set Educational goals within the framework of his transformation agenda.

According to her, the administration is in partnership with the private sectors towards uplifting standards of Education in the state.

Hajiya Hannatu said that the government would establish a synergy with Private Schools to eradicate so many ills in the Education sector particularly exam malpractice.

Earlier, while declaring the Conference open,
the Minister of Education, Professor Adamu Adamu said the Association of Model Islamic Schools(AMIS) in Nigeria is the umbrella body of 7000 Islamic Schools in Nigeria including FCT.

Adamu Adamu who was represented by Dr Omotayo Bukola,
stressed the need for religious bodies to join hands with the government in ensuring the development of Education.

He opined that religious bodies must rise to the occasion of ensuring development of Education and rescue it from collapsing in the face of many challenges including insecurity bedevilling the country.
