The new Madalla market construction is a 27 hectares of land at the heart of the town earmarked to decongest the present market along the Kaduna – Abuja highway, the ongoing construction of the market is a PPP initiative O to improve the economic development of the State.

Dodo Project Consultants and Premium Capital Solutions, are advancing the ongoing construction of the Madalla new market, projected to decongest the Madalla market along the Kaduna-Abuja highway. During an assessment tour of the project by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Ahmed Matane, showed his satisfaction over the level of progress being done and promised to expedite action, towards the completion of the new Madalla Market, due it hazardous location along the highway presently.

The new Madalla market, is occupying a total landmass of about 27 hectares (270,0000 by 270,0000 land) approximately, the new market site has about 4,800 saleable spaces with about five different inlets and outlets and a main entrance from the Kaduna-Abuja highway. According to the Project Manager, Dodo Project Consultants, the drivers of the new Madalla market, Architect Umar Jama’are, highlighted that, the new market will have access road that will link the Kaduna-Abuja highway to Suleja old road.

Architect Umar Jama’are, further explained that, the new Madalla market will be powered by 33kva electric transmission supply, and will sink an industrial borehole as an independent constant access to water for the market, Architect Jama’are, described the initiative as a Public Private Partnership PPP, based on 15 years Build, Operate and Transfer policy, he said, the new market will be equipped with a weekly market shade, which is the first immediate response to decongest the Madalla old weekly market, which he stated has posed a threat and menace to Madalla community.

Architect Jama’are, however confirmed that, other facilities in the new Madalla market are green stores for the storage of vegetables and perishable items, cattle and poultry stall or shade for the transaction of livestock and poultry, also, the Project Manager, asserted that, ongoing is the construction of type A and B shops, which he stated that, the difference are the sizes for provisions and related businesses. He pointed out that, meat shops, daily corner shops, and warehouses, are also ongoing in order to expand opportunities for more economic prospects and investors.

In his submission, the representative of the new Madalla market financier, Premium Capital Solutions, Mr Adebiyi Mayewa, stated that compensation have been made, and promised to mobilize more resources towards the opening up of the access roads to the new market, he stated that, erection of perimeter fence to secure the market from residential neighborhood and land encroachment, is part of the stability for investors to put in more funds for development.

Finally, the SSG enjoined the contractors handling new Madalla market to deploy more equipment and manpower to ensure speedy completion of the project, which he forecasted if completed, will increase the internal revenue base of the State. It should be recalled that, new Madalla market was conceived as part of the greater Suleja Smart City concept, an initiative developed to transform the Suleja town into a smart city economic hub as serviceable location to FCT and other States within the axis.

Madalla new market is a concept from the smart city development of Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State, the Madalla new market is conceived to decongest the hazardous location were the market is presently located along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
