NSHA has reaffirmed its commitments to Medical Practitioners

The leadership of the 9 th legislature in Niger State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitments and desires to ensure that media practitioners in the State have conducive atmosphere to practice their profession in accordance with relevant sections of the law, as contained in the Constitution especially in the present political dispensation in the State.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly Barr. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, disclosed this when the joint leadership of the House, the House Committee Chairman and Members including the Clerk of the Legislature Alh. Abdullahi M. Kagara and the Head of Department of Information Alh.
Sabo Adamu and Members of the Assembly Press Crew drawn from the State Government owned media, Federal and Private organizations had an interface with leadership of the House, including other critical stakeholders held at the Speaker’s office of the Assembly in Minna.

According to the Speaker, the interface has become necessary in view of the recent publication of a section of the social media in the State as well as in the public domain, which claimed that one of the law maker in the Assembly was infected with Covid-19 pandemic.

The number one lawmaker in the State then advised the Assembly Press Crew Members on the need to cross check any information, which they might have come cross in the discharge of their responsibility and denied any such incident affecting any of the lawmaker so affected by Corona virus
pandemic.

The Speaker then reiterated the commitment of the present legislature to continue to work in harmony with the media of the Assembly and all other media organizations in the Sate, for mutual benefit of both sides and the State as a whole .

The Speaker further assured the media of improve working relationship through considering the requests for periodic press interaction on the activities of the legislature in the State in order to ensure adequate briefings on it mandate, to avoid any unnecessary misinformation of the people of the State, adding that the leadership will also consider other requests of assistance to members of the Press Corps, to enable them perform their duty maximally.

In his remark, the House Committee Chairman on Information, who is also the Chief Whip of the House and Member representing Lapai Constituency, Hon. Musa Idris Vatsa, commended the media of the House and the State
at large, for their diligent partnership with the legislature and their relentless discharge of their primary assignment and assured that the 9th Assembly cooperation and support in the discharge of their primary assignments.

Also in his remark, the Clerk of the House, Alh. Abdullahi Mohammed Kagara, restated the positive roles of the media as well as the commitments of the leadership of the House and the entire members of the Assembly and management, to foster good working relationship in order to take the
legislature to the next level in their primary assignments.

Secretary of the media crew Mr. Akawu Ibrahim and other members of the crew in the Assembly, commended the initiative of leadership for the interface which will further

improve the relationship to enhance their duties and appealed to the leadership to provide them with enhanced allowances, working tools and manpower training through capacity buildings.
