Niger state house of assembly have urged the executive arm of government to as a matter of urgency, assist the victims of fire outbreak whose source of livelihood and shelter were destroyed by fire in lambata.
It could be recalled that on the 6th of September 2020, at about 11:30pm, two tankers were involved in an accident in lambata community, resulting into fire outbreak which affected several houses and properties worth millions of naira.
The deputy house leader, hon. Binta Mamman, member representing gurara constituency, who raised the motion at the plenary, said although life was not lost,but the victims who escaped death by whiskers , lost their means of livelihood and shelter.
Adding that the current condition of the victims is pathetic and requires government’s intervention.
The house therefore resolved that a new tanker park should be constructed within lambata but outsketched of the populance.
Further that the police check point should be moved further ahead to avoid a recurrence of such incident.
Meanwhile a delegation was set up headed by the speaker Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse to visit the affected community.
