Niger State Governor, ALH ABUBAKAR Sani Bello has on behalf of the Government and People of Niger State commiserated with the the State Commissioner of Sports and Youth Development Mr Emmanuel UMAR over the demise of his Mother, Mrs Anna UMAR Iko.
Governor Bello in company of his Akwa Ibom State Counterpart, Mr Emmanuel Udom and Gombe State Deputy Governor, Mr Manasseh Daniel Jatau was at the funeral service of the deceased held at the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA Goodnews, Minna, Niger State
In his message to the family, Governor Bello described the event as a celebration of life, owing to the fact that the late Mama Anna Umar lived a fulfilled life as testified by many who knew her closely.
He enjoined others to live life that will please God and humanity even as he prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.
Similarly, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Udom and the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manasseh Daniel Jatau in their separate remarks said it is sad to lose a loved one no matter the age adding that Christians should always dedicate their lives to the service of God as Late Mama Anna Umar did, emphasising that it pays to serve Jesus Christ.
The President, Evangelical Church of West Africa, Rev. Stephen Panya who delivered the funeral sermon on the theme: “The Value of Human Life” took his reading from the book of 1st Peter 1:18-19.
He said the best way to prepare for death is to accept Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour, describing Late Mama Anna as one who lived a dedicated and a fulfilled life, serving God and humanity.
Late Mama Anna Umar Iko died at the age of 76 after a brief illness.
She is survived by three children, among them is Mr. Emmanuel Umar, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
