NIGER STATE PLANNING COMMISSION & GIZ INTERFACE WITH MDA’s ON THEIR PRIORITY PROGRAMS/PROJECTS

The Niger State Planning Commission and German Corporation GIZ has interface with Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDA’s on their priority programs and projects.

The interface which was conducted by the instance of the German Corporation was held for MDAs to pinpoint and highlight areas of priority for GIZ interventions, in his opening remarks the Director of Niger State Planning, Musa Alhaji Dangana, who represented the Permanent Secretary Planning Commission stressed out the need for GIZ to intervene in the State Development plan and sector strategy plan which is embedded in the Niger State Blueprint.

Musa Alhaji Dangana stated that the State Blueprint had mapped out critical priority areas such as Youth and Women Empowerment, Health, Education, Water and Agriculture within the intermediate, medium and long-term plans of the present administration, the Director of the State Planning however admonished MDAs to highlight area of interventions for GIZ support.

Similarly, the GIZ led team, Mr Nonso Obiekili explained that there interventions will be align to the State policy directions and programs, he said GIZ will key into the state development plans so as to promote pro poor growth in Niger State, Mr Nonso commended the state government for it steadfast in identifying Youth and Women empowerment as yardstick for economic growth.

About seven MDAs participated in the meeting which are Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Livestock, Ministry of Commerce, IFAD, YESSO, Niger State Commodity and Export Promotion Council and Ministry of Environment.
