The Nigerian Air Force is to commence immediate air operations to check banditry in troubled parts of Niger State.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar made this known when he received the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello in Abuja.

Air Marshal Abubakar said a Quick Response Team was already in the state and appealed for intelligence to ensure the success of the operations.

Earlier, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello explained that the government was worried over the attacks on lives and property of the people.

He pointed out that intelligence reports received showed that the bandits are well equipped and called for synergy among security agencies to dislodge them.
