COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF A ONE DAY EMERGENCY MEETING OF SOYA BEANS GROWERS APEX BODY NIGER STATE CHAPTER HELD ON TUESDAY, 9TH OF JULY2019 AT AYEAID CONFERENCE HALL BOSSO MINNA.
The stakeholders emergency meeting which was presided by the president soya beans growers apex body Niger State chapter mallam Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso was attended by representatives of Niger state farmers cooperative apex (NSFCA) and the ministry of investment commerce and industry cooperative department as well as members from the ten local government areas of the state of the three geo-political zones of the state.
The essence of the meeting was to discuss on the 2019 soya bean farming calendar, participation of soya bean farmers in 2019 farming season and the CBN anchor borrowers program in the state.
In his welcome address, the president of the soya bean growers farmers Niger state chapter Mallam Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso while reviewing the activities of the body within the period under review, however called on soya bean farmers in the state to observed good agricultural practices (GAP) and exploit the value chains in soya beans production.
He further advised the farmers across the 25 local government areas in the state to participate in soya beans farming as they stand to benefit a lot.
The state apex body is in the process of mapping out plans to have data base of its farmers towards next year farming season.
Resolutions reach at the end of the meeting are as follows:
The state apex body resolved that it will not participate in the 2019 CBN anchor borrowers program as proposed earlier.
That the apex body will make necessary arrangements for early participation in the 2020 farming season.
That the apex body will also setup committee to draw action plan for the future activities of the body and the capacity building of the farmers cooperatives.
In conclusion the stakeholders of soya beans growers apex body Niger state chapter through its president applauded the present administration in the state under the able leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for his continuous support to the farmers across the state and urge the government not to relent its assistance to the farmers by maintaining the tempo.
