Niger State Government said it would continue to give priority attention to Youth empowerment as well as promote social security so that our future can be secured, both as individuals and as a nation.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane disclosed this when the executive members of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Niger State Council led by the Chairman, Comrade Bello Shariff paid him a courtesy visit in his Office.
Ahmed Matane said the present administration would not relent in its cardinal principle of Youth empowerment as they did not only constitute a formidable force, but made up of next generation of leaders, their well being, therefore had implications not only for their lives but also for the society.
The SSG reiterated government’s commitment at protecting the rights and privileges of the Youth in the State, adding that the Youth should reciprocate by shunning all forms of social vices.
He restated government readiness to collaborate with any organization with genuine intention in youth and women empowerment in order to achieve the restoration agenda of the present administration.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Niger State Council, Comrade Bello Shariff explained that youth constitute more than half of the population of Niger State, the most productive and vibrant segment of the economy yet largely unemployed.
