The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ib_rahim Matane has reaffirmed the present administration’s determination at repositioning Civil Service for optimal performance.
The SSG divulged this when he received the Forum of Retired Permanent Secretaries led by the Chairman, Engineer Ndagi Aliyu who were in his Office to rejoice with him over his appointment as the Secretary to the State Government by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
Matane told the Retired Permanent Secretaries that the reinvigoration of Civil Service by the State Government will subscribe to the goal of efficient service delivery, transparency and openness.
He assured the Retired Permanent Secretaries that his Office will engage technocrat and people of proven integrity by working closely with the Forum with a view to attaining the restoration agenda of the present administration led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
The SSG commended members of the Forum for their resilience, doggedness and commitment to the development ideals of Government.
He stressed that the visit to his Office by the Retired Permanent Secretaries would no doubt spur him further in his resolve to rededicate himself the service to the State, nation and humanity as well as provide servant leadership to the people irrespective of their affiliations.
Earlier in his remarks the Chairman of the Forum of Retired Permanent Secretaries, Engineer Ndagi Aliyu told the SSG that they were in his Office to felicitate with him on his recent appointment as the Secretary to the State Government.
The Chairman of the Forum explained that the Retired Permanent Secretaries usually come together after retirement and pulled their resources together for the betterment of the State, adding that they will not relent in offering advices that will assist the SSG to achieve the set objectives.
In their separate remarks, the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Daniel Clifford Shahere, former Head of Service, Yabagi Alhaji Sule and the Secretary of the Forum, Alhaji Aliyu Madugu stated that the appointment of Matane as the new Secretary to the State Government was as a result of his hard work, commitment and dogged determination to achieve greatness in service to Niger State, fatherland and humanity in general.
They stated that the challenges are enormous, but expressed optimism that the new SSG has the mettle, clout and network that is required to take Niger State to the next level.
They also offered prayers to God to continue to give the SSG the wisdom, good health and strength to continue with the good work he is doing for the benefit of all and sundry.
