The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Gubernatorial running mate in Kaduna State during the just concluded general elections, Comrade Ilias Kazzah has said that the state has been highly divided along religious lines with Muslims in the North while Christians are in the South.
He said even the projects been executed seem to follow a lopsided pattern in favour of one side and therefore, urged the state Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai to work towards reuniting people of the state.
Comrade Ilias Kazzah who made the call in his Easter message, also described the last general elections as just a fulfillment of normal practice and advised aggrieved parties to follow laid down rules in seeking redress.
“As far as my party, the SDP is concerned, the last election was just a fulfillment of normalcy. It was characterized by a lot of elements that could lead to litigations.
“However, to me, going to court could be another waste of time looking from past experiences but whoever feels to pursue his interest is free to do so in line with the constitution”.
On the Easter, Comrade Kazzah congratulated Christians for the successful lengthy period Urging them to use the Easter as a time for sober reflection.
“Having undergone the fasting, let’s not deviate from the lessons learnt and the spiritual encounters we had with the Lord.
The Deputy Gubernatorial candidate also advised Christian faithful to give thanks to God in all circumstances whether good or bad and always remember that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the symbol of salvation.
