NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT HAD CREATED A TOURISM MAP AND CULTURAL CALENDAR……………TOURISM COMMISSIONER ASSURED INVESTORS OF REAPING DIVIDENDS

The Government of Niger State had invested in the creation and production of tourism map and cultural calendar in the state, this was made known during a World Press Briefing organized by the Niger State Ministry of Information and Strategy tagged STEWARDSHIP.

In his statement, the Honorable Commissioner of Niger State Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Honorable Daniel Sunday Kolo explained that the Ministry under the present administration was geared towards cultural emancipation, job creation and tourism empowerment.

Honorable Sunday Kolo said the Ministry under the current dispensation was propelled to promote the state as a tourism heaven and destination, support the existing tourist sites and location in term of maintenance and investment.

The Tourism Commissioner pinpointed the need to attract foreign investment and tourists around the world, he said the ministry also ensured the cultural values of the state, geopolitical and ethnic interaction that stimulates and enhance the industry for revenue generation and income.

Honorable Sunday Kolo confirmed the participation of the state in 2015 RATAFEST when the administration was sworn in, he stressed out that the state also participated in AFA 2015, AREWA 2015, AFRIDREAMS 2015 and NIGERFEST 2015.

The Tourism and Culture Commissioner highlighted that the Ministry had also reclaimed artifacts and relics back to the state, he said casual safety personnel’s were engaged at Gurara waterfall to safeguard life.

Honorable Kolo further reiterated that Niger State had participated in the 2016 World Tourism Day, 2016 NAFEST at Kaduna, FESTAC 2017, RATAFEST 2017, NAFEST 2017 at Port Harcourt all geared towards putting the state in the world tourism stage.

The Commissioner affirmed that a Canadian investor was engaged by the state to integrate local cultural shows to international standards, Honorable Kolo stated that Baro Empire Hill road is undergoing a reconstruction, he said effort is being put in place by the Ministry to protect colonial ruins and cemeteries by erecting fence.

Honorable Kolo described United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO invitation as one of the best to happen to the state, he affirmed that the Amalgamation center was showcase to UNESCO to be part of world heritage and develop into world class historical center.

The Tourism commissioner said production of tourist map and cultural calendar is created to indicate tourism location and promote awareness to investors hence the distribution of the map across the globe.

The Commissioner said Shiroro Hotel was grounded in order to reorganize it for operate and turnaround it fortune, Honorable Kolo also said Shagunu Park and Recreation is receiving government attention for investment, he said the Zuma Hotel in Zuma rock is undergoing legal adjustments with its investors which will sort out soon.

Honorable Sunday Kolo finally reaffirmed Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s administration resolved to introduce Sports Tourism in the state, he said effort had been put in place for investment into the state tourism and cultural potentials.
