It has been brought to our attention some rumours making the news on the victory of Mohammed Sani Musa (313) as the legitimate candidate and winner of the just concluded National Assembly Election which he won and is to represent the good people of Niger East Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly in just a couple of months.
The purported news which was carried by THIS DAY LIVE online newspaper with the caption NIGER EAST: APC MAKES U-TURN BACKS DAVID UMARU is totally false, deceiving and untrue. The news has no iota of truth in it and must totally be disregarded.
It is just a ploy to create unnecessary tension and spark up confusion among our teeming peaceful supporters and a deliberate attempt to bring division in the All Progressives Congress, Niger State Chapter and the National Chairman of the Party.
On the 7th of February,2019 a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja gave a judgment on the said matter to which the National Chairman wrote to INEC in obedience to the judgment and court order, a copy of the letter is available for clarification and upon receipt of the order, INEC did the needful by putting the name of Mohammed Sani Musa as the legitimate candidate and subsequently contested and won the election to represent the good people of Niger East senatorial District.
Therefore, we wish to categorically state that the news making rounds is unfounded, deceitful and untrue. We will want to appeal to the APC State Chapter Exco, our teeming supporters, well-wishers, family and friends to remain resolute and unshaken as Mohmammed Sani Musa 313 is and remains the Senator- Elect representing Niger East Senatorial District.
In the same light, we ask that the press and the media should do due diligence in their reportage by verifying authenticity and facts of such information before heading to the press, as what we know as a fact is that Senator David Umaru has filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal Abuja and no order or any judgement is given contrary to what the Federal High Court is given.; as failure to do so can create unnecessary tension and unrest which can truncate the peace we enjoy in the state and the country at large.
Finally, we wish to advise Senator David Umaru and his team to allow the laws of the land to take it full course and not preempt or indulge in any form of act that can create undue division in the All Progressive Congress, the good people of Niger East Senatorial district and Niger State.
We remain resolved to give a true representation of our people and we will resist any form of act that will bring about division, conflict and disharmony among our people.
Long live Nigeria, Long Niger State and Long Live the All progressives Congress
