Our attention has been drawn to a malicious document going round in some quarters alleging that Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello had constituted a committee to reduce the number of civil servants from the Nupe and Gbagyi ethnic divide of the state.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, dismissed the allegation describing it as untrue and mere propaganda from mischief makers who are only out to create political disharmony in the state.

The Chief Press Secretary stated that, whoever is behind the spread of such outrageously fake news must understand that the issue is not just about politics alone but that they are enemies of the state who are out to disrupt the peaceful coexistence of the people.

According to him, Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello, since his election in 2015, has run an all inclusive government and has been fair and just to all in terms of appointments and projects implementation across the zones.

He stated that the alleged committee and baseless plan only existed in the figment of the imagination of the writer who thinks that the civil service is an institution that can ordinarily be swayed or tilted in favour of a particular ethnic group.

Mal Ndace explained that Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello is not an ethnic chauvinist and would never contemplate reducing the size of a particular ethnic group in the civil service in favour of another as erroneously claimed by the writer.

The Chief Press Secretary noted that those who are spreading the venomous rumour are only maligning the Governor ahead of the Gubernatorial elections in March, but he remains optimistic that they would never succeed.

He said Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello does not need to create political disequilibrium to be elected because he is well loved by Nigerlites adding that blackmails and character assassination at this time was too late for the propagandists.

Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace called on all Nigerlites to beware and disregard such fake news stressing that individuals responsible for the spread of such ‘hate speech’ must desist or would be made to face legal action.
