Former Niger State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), four governorship aspirants, former Minister and over ten thousand members of the opposition party on Saturday decamped to ruling All Progeessives Congress (APC).

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello, deputy national chairman of APC, Otunba Niyi Adebayo received the decampees at the official flag -off of gubernatorial campaign for the re- election of NIger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello and his deputy, Alh. Ahmed Mohammad Ketso in Minna, the state capital.

The decampees include immediate past state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Abdulraham Enagi, former Minister of Sports, Engr. Sani Ndanusa, who served under President Goodluck Jonathan, a former each member of the national and state assembly, Hon. Mandolia and Hon. Mohammed Saba (Destiny).

The four PDP governorship aspirants who contested the last year party primaries are, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Africa, Amb. Musa Ibeto, who was also the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Baka, Alhaji Umar Ahmed (Dongonkoli) and Alhaji Hanafi Mu’azu Sudan.

Receiving tbe decampees, Vice President Osinbajo commended Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s doggedness in the management of the state, describing him as one of the best APC governors in the country.

“Niger State is lucky to have Governor Sani-Bello.He is one of the best governors in the country and you can be assured that he will do better in the next four years,” the Vice President stated.

He noted that the state was lucky to have gotten a leader like Gov. Sani Bello and urged Nigerlites to rally round him and the party during the forth coming general elections.

The Vice President then welcomed the decampees and urged them join forces with the party and ensure the victory of the ruling APC at the polls during the next general elections.

Governor Sani-Bello had earlier assured President Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo of the full support awaiting their candidature from the state at next month Presidential election.

He maintain that Niger State is an All Progressives Congress state maintaining that the party was set to reenact 2015 victory at the polls during tbe next general elections.

According to Governor Sani-Bello who spoke in hausa, “Mr. Vice President and all our leaders here today, I want to assure you that we shall re-enact the 2015 victory. We deliver the state from top (Presidency) to dowm (state house of assembly) at the forth coming election”.

Earlier, the Director General of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Council and Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Ameachi urged the electorates in the country not to be swayed by the antics of the opposition PDP, stressing that the party had no agenda but to loot the treasury of the country.

According to the director general, “Members of the PDP are broke and they are struggling to come back. Their coming is not to serve but to steal our commonwealth again. We must not allow them to come back to power”.

The state chairman, Engr. Imam Imam had earlier gave account of the party’s performance at the last general elections and assured the President and the party leadership of the readiness of the state to return a hundred percent victory at all the elective offices during the forth coming general elections.

The decampees were later recieved by the deputy national chairman of the party, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo who stood in for the party’s national chairmam, Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
