Boko Haram: Army buries officer, 13 soldiers in Kaduna

Kaduna. The troops, said to be from 1 Division, were going back to their base in Kaduna after taking supplies to soldiers in Maiduguri, when they were ambushed and killed by insurgents.

Speaking at the burial, which had in attendance the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA),  Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, and other senior officers, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Major General Mohammed Mohammed said the slain soldiers exemplified the values of the nation and the military.

Mohammed urged gallant troops not to relent in their efforts to ensure that they get rid of kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements. “I want to assure you of the unwavering support of the Chief of Army Staff and the leadership of our dear nation in ensuring that you are provided with necessary equipment, as well as adequate welfare to carry out your duty effectively and efficiently,” he said.
