Polio immunisation begins at Konduga LG

The polio immunisation exercise has taken off in Konduga local government area of Borno state.

Kanem Trust reports that the exercise was launched at Pompomari ward by the caretaker Chairman of the council, Alhaji Bulama Gana Dalori.

He said the exercise would cover all the local government area and assured health officials of his support to its success.

He also called on all nursing mothers in the area to ensure that they bring out their children for the immunisation.

Similarly the caretaker Chairman of Gubio Local Government  Area, Zanna Modu Gubio, has appealed to traditional and religious leaders to support the enlightenment campaign to get more parents to accept the immuinsation.

Making the call in Gubio the caretaker chairman said that being the most influential people of their localities, traditional and religious leaders should enlighten their followers about the importance of the polio vaccine.

While inspecting the exercise, the chairman called on all nursing mothers of the area to bring their children forward to receive the vaccination.
