‘Almighty’ Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has scheduled January 11 for another workers mass rally/protest to ground Kaduna State as earlier promised.
Labour, in a statement of notice of invitation to all industrial unions made available to journalists in Kaduna on Friday, stated that the National Executive Council of the union is organizing the rall/protest against anti workers policies of Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
Signed by the General Secretary of NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, the notice stated that “The President/General Secretary,
Dear Comrade, Further to the earlier letter inviting you to the NEC-ordered rally/protest in Kaduna, you are reminded to be in Kaduna for the rally/protest on 10th for 11th protest.
“Your union is requested to mobilize at least 500 workers to the rally. The rally is expected to be massive and reflect the true displeasure of the Labour Movement in Nigeria with the anti-labour policies and stance of the Kaduna State governor.
“The rally will commence at 9.00am. Take-off point is the NLC Secretariat, 1, Lafia Road, by Independence way, Kaduna”, it stated.
It letter further stressed that “While we expect you and your members at the rally, please accept our seasonal greetings”, the secretary said.
