As the games progresses so also Team Niger was seen in action which earned her another Gold medal in wrestling after a fierce battled with team Bauchi in a 55kg male category competition by 8 – 0 in favor of Niger.

In female Taekwando category, Team Niger battled team Katsina in their first fight which was 6 – 2 in favor of Niger while in the second fight Team Niger battled with Team Sokoto and lost out. Also in the male taekwando finals team Niger lost out.

In Athletics, Team Niger competed in 800meter women race and lost out, also in 800meter men race team Niger competed and lost out.

In Long jump, Team Niger competed and lost out, while in the 4×4 mix race men and women team Niger won the semi final and qualified for the finals.

In the female Squash team game event category, Team Niger played Team Delta and won by 3 – 1 in the first round while in the second round team Niger defeated team Delta again by 3 – 1 and qualified for the semi final which Niger was placed on the medal table.

In male Boxing category, Team Niger was knock out in his first fight which Niger lost out. In Weight lifting Male 56class category and the female 53class category lost out in the competition remaining 62class male category.

In scrabble female category, Team Niger won two and lost two in the competition which continue on the 14th of September 2017, while in the female Chess category, team Niger played round one to four and the game continue on the 14th of September 2017. In the Male Chess category, team Niger played round one to five and the game continue on the 14th September 2017.

In male Handball category, team Niger played team Kwara and won by 28 – 21 in a quarter finals, this has qualified team Niger into the semi final competition.

The Handball game was witnessed by the Honorable Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Development, Alhaji Mamman Musa, the commissioner charged team Niger Handball players to make their state proud.

Alhaji Mamman Musa, affirmed that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is happy and expectant of successes in the Youth game, he said the athletes most dedicate their hard towards winning Gold medals for Niger state.

He urged the athletes and officials to see there selves as good ambassadors of the state, the commissioner however cautioned that effort must be put in place to achieved results.
