The Etsu Agaie, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Nuhu Abubakar, expressed his willingness to partner as well as create an enabling environment in his domain for the smooth take-off of the Niger State Teachers Professional Development Institute, Alhaji Nuhu Abubakar shown his happiness that an Institute of such magnitude and prominence was cited in his domain.
The Implementation Committee chairperson, Hajiya Dije Jibrin Bala, briefed His Royal Highness on the framework of the Teachers’ Institutes which about three will be established and one located in his domain. She urged the Agaie stakeholders to be part of the big struggle for the actualization of the Institute in other to attract due significance to the education of their children and wards, Dije Bala equally asked stakeholders to partner with the government on issue that hinged on the educational welfare of their children.
The Chairperson welcomed all participants and stated that the idea began at Baro, when HRH the Emir of Agaie and the Governor discussed the issue of falling standard of education in the state; she said the strategy of sensitizing major stakeholders on the decaying education system need to be addressed so as to solve the problem. Dije Bala admonished the Communities, traditional leaders and Parents not to abandon their roles in supervising and monitoring schools, she urged them to ensure that they participate in the selection of children that will be admitted in the proposed Institutes.
