His Royal Highness, the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Alhaji Saidu Namaska, reaffirmed the efforts being expanded by the State Government which the Emirate Education foundation other NGO’s and individuals were complimenting toward the development of education in the State. The Sarkin Sudan commended the initiative taken by the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, in tackling issue associated with Teachers who are the core delivery tool of education; he therefore pledged his support and that of his subject in ensuring the successful Implementation of the NSTPDI Program.
The Honorable Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Hajiya Fadima Madugu, informed the Emir the rationale behind the establishment of the Committee by the State Government, which was aimed at reviving Teacher Education in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Basic and Secondary School levels.
The Chairperson of the Implementation Committee, Hajiya (Dr) Dije Jibrin Bala, mni, MFR, observed that owing to recent happenings parent and Communities are shying away from teaching profession because it was relegated to the background, she therefore pleaded with the stakeholders to be more committed and to participate actively in school supervision and management. Dije Bala also seeks for cooperation between the Council Chairmen and Local Government Education Secretaries for the improvement of the Education sector.
